DAT/CDR Trading List
Grateful Dead (~600 hours, mostly analog yet)
Everyone but The Dead (~750 hours, analog and digital)
Strawberry Jam (100+ shows, mostly analog)
These are the taping guidelines I usually follow:
- Analog Tapes: Maxell
XL-II only. XL-IIS by prior arrangement. 90 or 100 minute tapes depending on length
of original. No 110-minute tapes. Analog tapes are recorded on my Yamaha K-1020.
- Digital Tapes: Quantegy DAT R-124 preferred.
Others by prior arrangement; DAT preferred over DDS. DATs are recorded on my Tascam DA-P1.
- CDR Media: Mitsui
Unbranded Thermal 74 preferred. HHB Gold or Silver upon request. Others by prior
arrangement. CDRs are recorded on my HHB CDR-850. I do not use a computer to
burn CDRs.
- NO DOLBY or other
noise reduction. NO Hi-Speed or Auto-Reverse. NO editing or equalization. No 2x or faster burns.
- For trades, SEND ALL jewel
cases, inserts, labels, etc. Please do not write on the J-cards or other inserts, or
the tapes or discs. Write the show info, songlist, and recording geneology/lineage
on a separate piece of paper.
- Mail everything via
USPS PRIORITY Mail. The $3.50 flat fee is good for up to 8 analog tapes or 4 discs.
Cardboard Priority Mail boxes are available for free at the Post Office-- just ask them
for a dozen.
- I will do B&P's
occasionally, provided I have the time. I will also help collectors outside the
United States.
